Alešák PROCHÁZKA (Actually Aleš in the birth certificate)
Heidenau, Saxony, Germany
HOW DID YOU START CLIMBING?My ex-girlfriend wanted to try it. I did not. But I would do anything for her, naturally. So we started on sandstones and the decision was made.
HOW OLD WERE YOU WHEN YOU STARTED CLIMBING?I started quite late. I was 24.
WHAT KIND OF CLIMBING DO YOU PREFER?Polished boulders on a plywood. And sandstone immediately after that.
YOUR FAVOURITE CLIMBING AREA?Saxony, Adršpach. Now one of my dreams has come true, I found a job in Saxony and moved there ...
WHAT DO YOU THINK IS YOUR BEST CLIMBING SUCCESS?Before climbing, I spent a few years in the judo national team and it was tough going. Now, therefore, I do climbing just for fun and my pleasure.
YOUR BEST RESULTS IN COMPETITIONS?I never took part in a climbing competition. On the one hand I would surely lose, on the other hand I am not keen on it at all.
LEISURE?In addition to climbing, I play didgeridoo, write some articles from time to time, I cook, take photos, do slacklining. I love outdoor jogging and cycling. I like to spend time with people that I like. And sometimes I am just thinking about the meaning of different things ...
DO YOU TRAIN?I try to do something with my weak points, but I wouldn’t call that a systematic training.
HOW DOES YOUR TRAINING DAY LOOK LIKE?Doing all my duties first and then slipping away to the sandstones. I made up my mind to spend every climbing day on sand.
IDOL?The Dalai Lama. And as to climbers, Bernd Arnold and Špek (Petr Slanina).
PLANS FOR THE FUTURE?Good health, a job that I like, and the girl whom I love and who loves me. And climbing. And if everything I mentioned is on the up and up, it will be fine.
