Climbing team
Name & surname:

Adam Ondra

Domicile:

Brno, Czech Republic

First climbing experience:

At the age of 9 months, I scrambled out of my crib, it was a super boulder – pull-up, leg behind ear, down to the ground. -))) Actually I started climbing when I was six.

The toughest climb you are proud of:

First climb – Perla východu (Eastern Pearl), classification XY, Holštejn, Moravian Karst. In my opinion, numbers are not so important, more important is the line, individual steps, character of the rock – this determines the quality and the beauty of the route. Silbergeier 8b+, multipitch route in Raticon from Beat Kammelander, one of the Alpine Trilogy routes.

Favourite climbing area:

Frankenjura, Santa Linya, Voralpsee

Leisure time:

In addition to climbing, now and again snowboard, computer, mobile phone, foreign languages, parlour games.

The reason why you go climbing:

Cause I like it. I really found nothing else what would be more meaningful. Time spent in a different way is a loss of time:-)

Training day:

I do not train in a systematic way, I boulder about two hours 4-5 times a week. Endurance or maximum as necessary.

Motivation:

I have no problem with motivation. I found it in myself.

Toughest experience in the mountains:

Sometimes you reach the bottom but it belongs to sport and life.

Idol:

Wolfgang Gullich

Opinion on the current mountain climbing scene:

A sport that develops dynamically. Sport climbing is here for some 30 years. But the limits of human possibilities lie further than today. More and more difficult routes will surely be climbed and numbers will not always be the point ...

Motto:

I try to be honest to myself.

Plans for the future:

I do not make my plans public, so thanks for understanding.

Chat about myself:

In the opinion of other people, I sometimes do foolish things, but no matter how senselessly they seem to be, there is always a certain sense in them finally (quotation from my friend Ála Rozsypal).
