Static 12.0 rope
Description
About the rope
A high-performance rope with low elongation and high static strength, intended mainly for work at height and for securing people above open space. Strength increases as the diameter of the rope increases.
Type and use
A type A rope has the required minimum strength of 22 kN and is intended for activities at height and above a free drop, for rescue, caving and similar work.
Construction and marking
Inside the rope there is a tracer tape running along its whole length, stating the manufacturer's mark, the rope type and the standard number, the year of manufacture in figures and the material the rope is made from.
Lifespan and inspection
Storage time: the maximum storage time in an unused state is up to 5 years + the time in use (max. 10 years).
Time in use: depends on how often and how hard the rope is used; external influences and mechanical loading cause the static and dynamic performance of a static rope to decrease.
Annual inspection: the rope must be checked at least once a year by the manufacturer or by a person authorised by the manufacturer (an inspection recorded in the Record Card).
Check before use: the rope must be checked before every use. If there is any doubt about the safety of the rope, the rope must be withdrawn from use.
