Description

TENDON Speleo 9.0 is a static rope developed specially for cavers. It has low elongation, high static strength and above-standard abrasion resistance. As the rope diameter grows, its strength grows with it.

Low elongation

Rope type

A type B rope has lower parameters, for example a minimum strength of 18 kN. It therefore needs more care in use and is used mainly where the weight of the rope is the limiting factor.

Storage and lifespan

The maximum storage time of an unused rope is up to 5 years, plus a service life of a maximum of 10 years. The actual service life depends on how often and how intensively you use it. External influences and mechanical loading gradually reduce both the static and the dynamic performance of a static rope.

Inspection and safety

The rope must be inspected at least once a year by the manufacturer or by a person authorised by the manufacturer, and the inspection must be recorded in the rope's record card. Check the rope before every use, and if you have any doubts about its safety, take it out of service immediately.

Tracer tape

A tracer tape runs inside the rope along its whole length and carries the manufacturer's mark, the rope type, the standard number, the year of manufacture and the material the rope is made of.
