Firefighters in Hradec Králové trained, tested, and shared experiences

14.10.2025

On September 24–25, 2025, the Park 360 complex in Hradec Králové became a center for education, cooperation, and innovation in the field of high-altitude and climbing activities. As part of the POP-IN-LEZ 2025 (Regular professional training for firefighters – climbing instructors) and POP-OP 2025 (Regular professional training for authorized persons) events, approximately 350 participants from all over the Czech Republic gathered here.

The two-day program involved climbing instructors from the Czech Fire Rescue Service, company firefighters, teachers from fire protection schools, representatives of the fire brigade management, and external experts from manufacturers, suppliers, and trainers in the field of working at heights and above open depths.

Practical part: training, testing, and exchange of experiences
The main part of the program consisted of practical workshops focused on unifying methodology, improving cooperation between units, and exchanging experiences from real-life interventions.

The Tendon team also made a significant contribution to the technical content, preparing a demonstration of static and aramid rope endurance testing under direct heat at their practical station. Firefighters had the opportunity to observe how different types of ropes behave in extreme conditions and to try cutting ropes to demonstrate their resistance.

This interactive approach provided participants with valuable insights into the limits and capabilities of the equipment used—information that has a direct impact on safety during operations.

Evening session: from fiber to intervention
The afternoon and evening parts of the event were devoted to expert presentations and discussions. Representatives of Tendon also gave a presentation entitled "From fiber to intervention: How a safe rope is born."

The lecture outlined the entire process of creating a rescue rope – from the selection and testing of fibers, through design and manufacturing technology, to final quality control. An important section was also devoted to rope care and proper use, which fundamentally affects their durability and reliability in emergency situations.

Knowledge sharing, unified approach, increased safety
The POP-IN-LEZ and POP-OP 2025 events once again confirmed that regular training and cooperation across emergency services and the professional community are key to safe and effective interventions.

The combination of practice, technology, and education gave participants a unique opportunity to develop their skills, learn about new equipment, and strengthen the cooperation that is essential for the success of any rescue operation.
